The Development

A charming boutique development of 17 bespoke 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments is designed by Studio L interiors and Openstudio Architects. The two collaborated to thoughtfully focus on a peaceful and cohesive marriage between historic and contemporary architecture.

The development consists of the new building coined as the "Station House" and the characterful old Edwardian "Fire Station".  

The Grade II listed Fire Station has been transformed into seven residential apartments from the 1st floor to the 5th floor, including a characterful three-bedroom penthouse with charm galore. 

The new build “Station House” has eleven apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms, three duplexes and a lateral penthouse with a private keyed entry on the fourth floor. 

Behind the Fire Station is an exclusive residents' courtyard from James Lee Design uniting a distinction between the two buildings. 

The ground floor of the Fire Station houses a restaurant 'Mathura', by the Michelin starred chef Atul Kochhar.

The development has been created with sustainability in its core. Westminster Fire Station will deliver a 60% targeted reduction in carbon emissions. 

• 10% reduction in unregulated carbon emission, by using energy-efficient appliances and user-friendly energy measuring thermostats.
• In addition, 80% of the waste heat is saved by the heat recovery units.
• The solar panels in the development save 2.9 tonnes of carbon per year.

Both buildings retain their respective eras' stylistic distinctions whilst mindfully integrating the buildings' new architecture and interiors, and the result is a unique residential development.

Each home is unique at Westminster Fire Station, ensuring that the apartments are crafted to create thoughtful homes with one-of-a-kind touches and must be seen to be fully appreciated. 

Edwardian features can be seen throughout the development which brings the history of the building alive. Essential features of the old fire station have been restored and preserved including original carriage doors, ceramic tiles and the Watch Room - which is rare for its survival.
