Case studies

A handful of examples of fantastic properties we have managed

Stukeley Street

  • Private developer
  • Newly converted warehouse
  • Ideal Covent Garden location

CBRE advised on the development of a newly converted warehouse building in a quiet corner of Covent Garden. We were retained to manage the building and the 10 very high spec apartments. The Lettings Team secured good quality tenants and we continue to work with the developer on snagging issues and setting up the building to ensure smooth running for the new tenants and good return on investment for the Landlord.

Langley Court

  • Private investor
  • Three Covent Garden apartments
  • Staggered refurbishments

We appreciate that private investors have different requirements than larger corporate clients and as such we tailor our service so that the management we provide works for them. In this instance we staggered the refurbishment of 3 flats, so that one property was always tenanted. We also identified the level of refurbishment necessary so we retained parts of the flat while improving and changing the more dated aspects.

Having managed Lyford Estates' residential units on Langley Court for over ten years, we are very familiar with the properties and also feel that we know our client really well. We identified the block of 3 apartments for possible improvements to maximise their return for the landlord. CBRE Residential project managed the refurbishments working alongside contractors and interior designers and provided exact specifications for the improvements. The result was fantastic properties which were snapped up as soon as they hit the market!

Scala House

  • Scottish Widows
  • 34 refurbished apartments
  • Close to popular Charlotte Street

Scala House is a residential block of 34 apartments off Charlotte Street, in the heart of Fitzrovia. Having conducted the original investment purchase, CBRE were appointed by Scottish Widows Investment Partnership in April 2011 to manage the building and existing and future tenancies. It became evident that the building was not reaching its full potential so we consulted with the client to embark on a strategy of improvements to increase the rental income. Therefore, since June 2012 we consulted on the complete refurbishment of the apartments and re-launched Scala House in the summer of 2013 achieving a 30% increase in income, we continue to advise and work with the Landlord on the strategies which will produce the best return on their investment.
