City Fringe Living; emerging as a prime location
Increased desirability of the City Fringe sees property prices rise by 62%
We all know that areas skirting the City such as Shoreditch, Clerkenwell and Wapping, have become well established as social, business and cultural hubs in London over recent years. However, you might not realise exactly how much influence the area's popularity has had on residential property prices.
CBRE Residential's research shows that prices in the City Fringe have increased by 62% since 2008, which is higher than the London average of 36%.
This means property prices in the Fringe are at a premium with an average of £570,000. However, this masks a range of prices across the different markets from £364,000 in Shadwell to £723,000 in Shoreditch, meaning the area can attract a range of buyers across a range of price points.
