The CBRE Residential Guide to Student Living in Fitzrovia
Fitzrovia is a district of central London that spans two of London’s largest and most popular Boroughs – Westminster and Camden. If anyone had the chance to position a key area of London that appeals to students, professionals and tourists alike then it would be Fitzrovia with Bloomsbury, Marylebone, Soho and Regent’s Park on its four borders.
Many residents and admirers describe Fitzrovia as one of London’s hidden gems. The area was developed by a large number of minor landowners and this led to a collection of somewhat strange and small streets – many of which are still evident today. Compare this to the way that neighbouring Marylebone and Bloomsbury were developed under the ownership of a small number of landowners leading to their larger streets and wider layouts with squares and green spaces.
In recent years Fitzrovia has become a highly sought after residential area among those working in the media industry, celebrities and a large number of students. Student living in London has evolved over the last few years as areas and Boroughs have grown in popularity with certain demographics and Fitzrovia is one of these. These changing trends have helped to provide new recreational activities for residents including students and professionals, while also opening doors to new career opportunities.
For a student living in Fitzrovia there are all kinds of things for you to see and do during your time away from the University, and with such excellent public transport links you’re never too far from a vibrant part of the city where you can find popular bars and restaurants, a relaxing green space to meet friends or useful resources to help with your studies.
