The CBRE Residential Guide to Student Living in Fulham
Fulham is a typical suburban area of London complete with leafy green spaces, smart and relaxed wine bars and riverside views. Situated on the north bank of the Thames, Fulham sits between Hammersmith and Kensington with Battersea and Putney on the opposite side of the river.
From a residential perspective Fulham is a quiet and relaxing place to live that remains within a short distance of the major London areas. A student living in London would choose to come to Fulham to enjoy suburban living within the nation’s capital, away from the hustle and bustle of the city itself but just a short journey on public transport from the Universities and main business districts.
The Fulham area is now highly sought after in the residential sector. Over time the area has developed into a part of west London known for its wealth and luxurious properties with a number of London’s elite looking to buy property in Fulham that they can then commute from enabling them to live in the suburbs without adding a vast amount of time to their daily journey.
What’s it like to be a student living in Fulham?
As a young person or indeed a student living in London, Fulham is pretty much the ideal location. Even if you’re not physically living in Fulham itself, the area gives you the opportunity to escape to the suburban, village-like area to get away from inner city London without even having to leave the city.
The riverside location helps to provide a feeling of tranquillity and a space where you can go and relax with a walk down the riverbank or by going for a run along the Thames for the perfect backdrop that will make exercise much more enjoyable.
There are a number of classy and on-trend bars and restaurants in Fulham that don’t attract the same large number of visitors that those in areas such as Covent Garden and Soho might but there is still a relaxed and vibrant feel to many of the venues – especially those with live entertainment and good wines.
From a residential perspective you can forget about the idea of small, cramped student flats with small bedrooms, outdated furnishings and arguments over whose shelf is whose in the fridge. Here at CBRE Residential we have a number of student lettings near Fulham that have been designed to the very highest standards with some of the latest interior design trends incorporated into beautifully redeveloped and new properties in London, meaning that a student living in London today has the opportunity to genuinely live the high life.
