Hot 100 2018 - Help to Buy hotspots

Since its introduction in 2013, there have been a total of 12,205 Help to Buy sales in London, around 16% of London’s total new build sales. These sales have been more pronounced since the equity loan was increased to 40% after the November 2015 Autumn Statement.

Barnet has had the highest number of Help to Buy sales since 2013 at 914. However, Barking and Dagenham has the highest proportion of Help to Buy, with 47% of all new build sales using the scheme. The Chancellor announced in the 2018 Budget that the scheme was being extended to 2023 and so it will continue to support first time buyers getting onto the property ladder.
