Hot 100 2018 - Top boroughs for education provision

London is renowned for its first-class education system. It is home to 2,311 primary schools, of which 29% have been given an Ofsted rating of ‘outstanding’. When looking at individual boroughs, Barnet leads the way with an impressive 38 schools rated at the highest level. However, when looking at the proportion of ‘outstanding’ to total schools, Kensington and Chelsea takes the top spot with 58% of schools. Redbridge and Southwark have the highest number of secondary schools given the top ranking. London also has 300,660 full time students, the largest student population in the UK, and 65 university campuses across the capital. For the second year running, Camden has the highest student population with 23,330 students living in the borough.
