Vauxhall, the best location south of the Thames
Our Battersea and Nine Elms, Lettings Manager, James Hughes, provides his recommendations on why you may consider moving to Vauxhall.
Having worked in various locations across South London, I am now very excited to be heading up our new Battersea and Nine Elms office which covers one of my favourite areas of London, Vauxhall. Vauxhall is currently undergoing a major redevelopment which means the landscape is always changing and a number of new independent cafes, restaurants, bars, and pubs are coming to be area.
Since 2009, when I first started working in Vauxhall, I quickly realised why people are drawn to Vauxhall and choose to live here. It’s not just because they are living in Zone 1 but it’s the excellent transport links, the riverside location, and the very proud and extremely welcoming local community.
Exceptional transport links:
By living in Vauxhall, you will not need to worry about transport, as you have various forms of transport right on your doorstop. Vauxhall station provides you with access to the Victoria Line and access to National Rail services into London Waterloo and South West London suburbs such as Wimbledon, Kingston, Putney and Twickenham. Vauxhall Bus Station is the second busiest bus station after Victoria and provides you with access to various bus routes across the capital. St George’s Wharf Pier will provide you access to the Thames Clipper river boat services to Blackfriars and Bankside in central London.
Proud local community:
Vauxhall is home to a very proud local community as many of the residents have been living here for some time and have witnessed many changes to the area and have grown to love it. Like most other local communities, they are very welcoming to new residents moving to Vauxhall who quickly fall in love with Vauxhall. There are various local community projects which take place in and around Vauxhall for residents to be part of and one of the most successful projects is the Vauxhall City Farm.
One of Vauxhall’s most endearing features is its riverside location, just off the southern banks of the River Thames. You can walk along the Albert Embankment to the London Eye providing you with fantastic view of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. You can always follow the Thames upstream and walk around Battersea Park, which is also highly recommende and one of my favourite parks in London.
